Staff Spotlight
Welcome to the SHS Staff Spotlight where we shine the spotlight on a different member of our staff each month. This month, we are featuring CYNTHIA WICHELMAN, M.D..
Dr. Wichelman joined Medical Services in 2002. She received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the combined program of George Washington University/Georgetown University/University of Maryland. She has trained residents and medical students in Emergency Medicine and provided health care in rural areas of Alaska and to hill tribes in Thailand. She serves as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Washington University's School of Medicine as well as Course Director of the Mini-Medical School, a science education course offered to the public. She also serves as a coursemaster for
Olin Grand Rounds in the Olin Business School. She enjoys taking care of WU students "because they are bright and have a good sense of humor, even when they're not feeling well." She especially enjoys taking care of the students who are preparing to study abroad, as she likes to travel in addition to spending time with family, friends and her tortoise shell cat who does 18 tricks, including "rollover."
