Dori Donnell Lingle, M.S.N., RNC., F.N.P
Nurse Practitioner, Medical Services
Dori Lingle graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1994, with a Master of Science in Nursing. She is licensed with the State Board of Nursing, and is certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Dori’s experience includes Intensive Care nursing at the University of Missouri Hospital-Columbia, and the John Crowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She worked as a Public Health Nurse with the Peace Corps in Central America. After completing her master degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner Dori was employed at Johns Hopkins/National Institute of Aging, Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging in Baltimore, Maryland. In St Louis Dori has taught at the Barnes Jewish School of Nursing and has volunteered in medical clinics serving the Hispanic population of St Louis. In 2001 she founded a non-profit organization to provide medical care for newly-arrived immigrants. Dori has been in private practice since 2004. She joined the staff at Washington University Student Health Services in 2007. |

Lisa Ross, M.D.
Staff Physician, Medical Services
Dr. Ross graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School, and completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester. She has served on the faculty of St. Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis, where she taught medical students and residents. Dr. Ross joined Student Health Services in 2006, after several years in private practice. |

Cristina Walden, M.D.

Dr. Walden is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She completed residency training in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and endocrinology fellowship training at UTMB and the University of Toronto. She has been an instructor of medicine at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and in the private practice of endocrinology. |

Cynthia Wichelman, M.D.
Staff Physician, Medical Services
Dr. Wichelman joined Medical Services in 2002. She received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the combined program of George Washington University/Georgetown University/University of Maryland. She has trained residents and medical students in Emergency Medicine and provided health care in rural areas of Alaska and to hill tribes in Thailand. She serves as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Washington University’s School of Medicine as well as Course Director of the Mini-Medical School, a science education course offered to the public. She also serves as a coursemaster for Olin Grand Rounds in the Olin Business School. |

Ms. Harp received her Registered Nursing degree from Mennonite Hospital
School of Nursing and Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL and a
Masters of Business Administration Degree from the Executive MBA program
at Washington University in St. Louis. Her nursing career forcused on
Emergency Medicine in the St. Louis area followed by several years as a
Business Analyst with General American Life Insurance Company. She joined
Student Health Services as Associate Director, Chief, Administration in
May 2000. She serves as an advisor to the Student Health Advisory
Committee (SHAC) and is an Academic Advisor to students of WU Arts and
Sciences Programs. |

Kelly Reid, RN-C
Head Nurse, Medical Services
Ms. Reid graduated from nursing school in 1993 and worked for ten years as a pediatric emergency room nurse and as a Certified Adult Critical Care nurse. She joined SHS in 2001 and is credentialed in College Health Nursing. Ms. Reid has a special interest in teaching self care and preventative health care to college students. |

Marie Byington, RN

Ms. Byington received her Associate's degree in Nursing from Jewish Hospital College of Nursing and Allied Health in December 2000. She began her career at St. John's Mercy Medical Center working on the Neuro/Surgical Unit. She has since worked on the Cardio-Thoracic Unit for Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and most recently at the Student Health Services Department at Webster University St. Louis. Marie Joined the Washington University in St. Louis Student Health Service in September 2007. |

Kristina Nelson, RN, BSN
Staff Nurse, Medical Services
Kristi graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1996 with a BSN. She started her nursing career at Christian Hospital Northeast taking care of renal and cardiac patients. She then moved onto Washington University where she has worked in Otolaryngology as a patient coordinator and Urology Surgery as a staff nurse and research patient coordinator. She came to the Student Health Service in January of 2008. |

Ms. Rigsby graduated from Barnes School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked in Emergency Medicine at St. Louis Children's Hospital for many years prior to joining Student Health Services in 2003. |

Ms. Diekman received her BA from Fontbonne College and her Master’s degree from the University of Missouri St. Louis in Education/Counseling. She is the 2006-2007 President-Elect of the American Dietetic Association and a former national media spokesperson for the Association. She is an active volunteer for the American Heart Association, having served as Chairman of the St. Louis and Missouri boards. She is the Director of University Nutrition.

Christopher Chase, PT Cert MDT
Physical Therapy, Medical Services
Mr. Chase graduated with both his BS in Exercise Science and Masters from St. Louis University. Upon graduation he worked in orthopedic sports medicine in private practice with special emphasis on spinal conditions and sports injuries. For four years, he then managed outpatient physical therapy practices for a local Rehabilitation Hospital before returning to private practice in 2007. He attained his Certificate in Manual and Diagnostic Therapy from the McKenzie Institute International in 2002 and is co-founder and leader of the St. Louis Branch of the McKenzie Study Group for physical therapists in the greater St. Louis area. Mr. Chase has guest lectured at St. Louis University's Practical Anatomy Workshops and presented at Missouri State APTA conferences. Since 1997, he has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association's Eastern District, and has been a member of the orthopedic section since 2000. For the past nine years, Mr. Chase has volunteered as the physical therapist for a local high school with primary focus on working with the football team. Currently Mr. Chase is a candidate for the McKenzie Institute Internationals highest advanced diploma. He has worked at the Student Health Services since the Spring semester, 2008. |

Gary Wasserman, M.D.
Staff Gynecologist, Medical Services
Dr. Wasserman has provided gynecology services to Student Health Services since 1984. He graduated from the Six-Year Medical Program at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and holds an academic position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Washington University School of Medicine. He maintains a private practice. In 2007, he received the teaching award from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for work with the Residents at Missouri Baptist Hospital. He participated in the partnership program between Barnes Jewish Hospital and Riga, Latvia's Bikkur Holim Hospital and Maternity Hospital. He is the past president of Central Reform Congregation and is currently Board Treasurer of Hillel at Washington University. Dr. Wasserman is a diplomat of the American Board of OB-Gyn. In addition, Dr. Wasserman serves on the Washington University's Parent Council. |

Deborah Duckett, RN, MSN, BC-ANP
Medical Services
Ms. Duckett graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1997, with a Master of Science in Nursing. She is board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed in Missouri with the State Board of Nursing. Deborah transferred to SHS from the infectious diseases division at Washington University School of Medicine. Prior to that, she worked at the St Louis County Health Department in the Sexual Transmitted infections clinic. She has worked at Planned Parenthood and in the private sector in gynecological medicine. She completed her undergraduate education at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1981. She has experience with women’s health, emergency medicine, critical care and occupational heath nursing. Deborah has over 22 years in the Air Force Reserves. She is a Lieutenant Colonel and Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) to the Chief Nurse at Scott Air Force Base IL . She is a veteran of Desert Storm. She has 3 children; one is a Sophomore in college, one is a Captain in the Army, and the oldest teaches English to Japanese children in Japan . Deborah joined the SHS faculty in January, 2008. |

Brent Beam, Ph.D.
Staff Psychologist, Mental Health Services
Dr. Beam graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in psychology and communication studies, and received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in counseling psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He completed his clinical internship at the University of Florida Counseling Center and his postdoctoral training at the University of Missouri-Columbia Counseling Center. Dr. Beam’s professional interests include men’s issues, multicultural counseling, clinical supervision, spirituality in counseling, relationship concerns, and group psychotherapy. |

Kathy Brock, Ph.D.
Staff Psychologist, Mental Health Services
Dr. Brock graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in journalism. She received her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the MU Counseling Psychology program and completed her internship at the University of California-Irvine Counseling Center. She worked for two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Traumatic Stress Institute in South Windsor, Connecticut and completed an additional year of postdoctoral training at Columbia University’s Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. Prior to coming to Washington University in St. Louis, she was the Director of the Counseling Center at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York . Dr. Brock is an active volunteer with the Doctors of the World Human Rights clinic. Her professional interests include depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, traumatic life experiences, grief, and academic performance problems. She enjoys working with LGBT students, immigrant and international students, and U.S.-born students of color. She serves as an adviser to Uncle Joe’s Peer Counseling program. |

Ms. Cohn attended the University of Pittsburgh and received her Master's degree in Social Work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. She graduated from the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. Her professional affiliations include the National Association of Social Workers, the Academy of Certified Social Workers, and the St. Louis Eating Disorders Network. Ms. Cohn's clinical interests include depression, women's issues, life transitions, relationship and family issues, eating disorders, and grief and loss issues. |

Sherie Kaplan, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Services Ms. Kaplan attended The American University and graduated with a BA in Psychology. She went on to complete her Master's degree in Social Work at George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. Ms. Kaplan has also completed an intensive three year post-masters residency at Care and Counseling in insight-oriented psychotherapy and a two year program, "the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program," at The St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. She currently serves on the board of the APP aluumni assoiciation. Her work interests include helping individuals find more adaptive ways of functioning through insight oriented therapy while looking at the individual's unique personality and experiences. She enjoys working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and other addictive patterns, family of origin issuues and adjustment difficulties. |

Steven Kraushaar, Psy.D.

Dr. Kraushaar graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Denver with a degree in Human Communication. He went on to complete his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver. His specialty focus tool was couples therapy. He completed his internship at the University of California, Santa Barbara Counseling and Career Services and his post-doctoral training at Yale Health Services. His professional interests include couples treatment, eating disorders, depression, relationship and family issues as well as grief and existential issues. He enjoys working with both LGBT students and students of color. Dr. Kraushaar is a member of the eating disorders team. |

Jackie Miller, M.Ed., MSW, LCSW

Ms. Miller graduated cum laude from Maryville University. She received both of her graduate degrees from Washington University -- a Master's in Education from the Graduate Institute of Education and a Master's in Social Work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work. Her areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, adult children of alcoholics, and women's issues. Ms. Miller has specialized interests in the treatment of eating concerns, spirituality and counseling, and the mind/body/spirit connection. She also serves as an advisor to Reflections student group. |

Karolyn Senter, Ph.D., LPC

Dr. Senter received her doctorate degree in Counseling and Family Therapy from Saint Louis University. She completed her clinical training at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and at the Family Development Center at Saint Louis University. Prior to coming to WU, Dr. Senter was the Clinical Coordinator/Trainer for The Center of Counseling and Family Therapy at Saint Louis University. She also worked as a therapist and program supervisor for the Family and Personal Counseling Center with Evangelical Children’s Home. Dr. Senter is an active member of the American Counseling Association and the American College Counseling Association. Her counseling interests include: family and relationship issues, attachment injury, couples counseling, women’s issues, cultural diversity and spirituality in healing. She serves as coordinator of Group Counseling for Mental Health Services. |

Lisa Sinden-Gottfried, Ph.D.

Dr. Sinden-Gottfried returned to her native St. Louis in 2002 to begin work as a psychologist at the Student Health Service. Her professional interests include women’s issues, anxiety, trauma recovery, health psychology, eating disorders, and performance enhancement. Dr. Sinden-Gottfried received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University and her Master’s degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri - Columbia. She completed her clinical internship at the University of Florida - Gainesville Counseling Center and also trained at the Center Against Sexual Abuse in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Sinden-Gottfried received her bachelor’s degree in music performance from the Juilliard School in New York City and has a special interest in working with students in the arts. Prior to coming to WU, Dr. Sinden-Gottfried worked as a staff psychologist at Valparaiso University and as a private practitioner in Valparaiso, IN. Dr. Sinden-Gottfried is on the SHS Eating Disorder Treatment Team and serves as both an advisor for the student group, CORE, as well as a women’s crisis counselor on campus. |

Craig Woodsmall, Psy.D.

Dr. Woodsmall is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Student Health Service. Dr. Woodsmall graduated from William Jewell College with degrees in psychology and communication, received his Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and his Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology - Chicago. He trained at the student counseling centers of William Jewell College, UMKC, and the Illinois Institute of Technology. In addition, he completed his clinical internship at Purdue University's Counseling and Psychological Services. Dr. Woodsmall's professional interests include depression and anxiety disorders, men’s/women’s issues, diversity issues, HIV/AIDS, and ADHD/Learning Disabilities. He serves as the Coordinator of Training, an advisor to One in Four, a men's sexual assault prevention program, and is a member of the university's Committee on Sexual Assault. |

Melissa Ruwitch

Ms. Ruwitch received a Bachelor's degree in English and Women’s Studies from Colby College. She worked in women’s health advocacy in Washington, D.C. and helped establish WU's Alumni and Parents Admission Program. Since 2000, she has built the health promotion department, leading health education staff in assessing WU students’ health risk behaviors, and developing and delivering programs, services and resources. Priority topics including sleep, stress, anxiety and depression; basic self-care; alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; nutrition, body image, weight, and exercise; sexual health, and violence, including sexual assault. Melissa is certified by the state of Missouri as an HIV Prevention Counselor. She serves as a member of the WU Committee on Sexual Assault (COSA), and as an advisor to the student Committee on Rape Education (CORE) and Phi Lambda Psi, a health and wellness honorary for sorority women. In addition, she serves as an advisor to students in the College of Arts and Sciences. |

Ginny Fendell, MSW, LCSW

Ms. Fendell earned her BA in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and her Master of Social Work with an emphasis in health and mental health from George Warren Brown School of Social Work. She completed clinical internships with Life Crisis Services and with the Washington University Student Health Services. She designs and implements stress management programs for individuals and groups, and works with students involved in peer health education on mental health topics including stress, anxiety, sleep, and depression. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. |

Coordinator of Alcohol and Other Drug Programs
Ms. Foy has a Master’s Degree in Health Science from Washington University. She has earned certification as a Health Education Specialist and as a relapse prevention specialist. Ms. Foy serves on the American College Health Association’s Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Task Force and is a consulting editor for the Journal of American College Health. She assists students with concerns about any kind of substance abuse. |

Ms. Price began her career in the medical field approximately 27 years ago and has specialized training in business office techniques, as well as in-depth computer training. She joined SHS in 2001, and is currently working towards her degree in anthropology. |
