| NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ALCOHOL AWARENESS WEEK (NCAAW) |
In honor of NCAAW this week, the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) has spread the word about CHEERS to the Designated Driver. CHEERS stands for Creatively Helping to Establish and Ensure an Educated and Responsible Society and is sponsored by the MO department of transportation. A CHEERS designated driver consumes no alcohol the night he or she is driving friends, and receives free soft drinks at participating bars and restaurants (see the CHEERS Web Site for a full list.) Contact SHAC for more info. |

| If you choose to drink... |

... in celebration of Halloween, just getting this far in the semester, or to cope, remember:
2 out of 3 WU students had 4 or fewer drinks last time they partied. See the new posters and the facts behind the stats at the Just the Facts Web site.
Mixing alcohol with certain medications, including some over-the-counter and herbal medicines, can be very risky and can decrease the effectiveness of the medication.
Our Web Site has comprehensive information on harm reduction and resources for you or a friend.
Substance Abuse Specialist Betsy Foy is available for individual appointments. Call 935-7386. |
