SHS Practicum in Counseling
1. Introduction
Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidates for the SHS Counseling Practicum must be actively pursuing one of the following degrees in an accredited academic program:
1. Degree of Masters of Social Work (Concentration practicum only).
2. Degree of Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
3. Degree of M.A. in Professional Counseling or Clinical Psychology
Application Procedures
Interested candidates should submit:
- Completed application forms (Application available upon request).
- Current curriculum vitae or resume.
- Two letters of recommendation – preferably from professors and supervisors.
- Official transcript of graduate course work.
Applications for the 2008-09 year will be accepted beginning in February 2008. In order to receive full consideration, completed applications must be submitted by March 1, 2008 . After this date, SHS will begin to contact strong applicants to schedule an onsite interview with staff. Interviews typically will take one hour and are required for placement in the SHS Practica.
