About Mental Health Services
Welcome to Mental Health Services. Our professional staff members work with students to resolve personal and interpersonal difficulties, many of which can affect their academic experience. These include conflicts with or worry about friends or family, concerns about eating or drinking patterns, and feelings of anxiety and depression. Although some concerns are more frequent than others, students' experiences are as varied as the students themselves. Staff members help each person figure out her or his own situation. Services include individual, group, and couples counseling, crisis counseling, and referrals.
Whether you have already made an appointment or are just thinking about it, you might want to know the answers to the questions most students ask before their first visit:
Three Things to Know Before Your First Appointment:
- Mental Health Services are available to help in urgent situations seven days a week, 24 hours a day. More info
- First "intake" counseling appointments are generally available within a week of your call. In this appointment, you may discuss your concerns with a counselor and explore options for next steps. He or she will help you connect with ongoing support on or off campus.
- Your conversations with our staff members are confidential. See "Rights and Responsibilities" and "HIPAA Information" for more information.
