Peer Health Educators: Students Involved in Health Promotion

Alcohol Peer Educators

Alcohol Peer Educators work to reduce high-risk drinking on campus by promoting the e-CHUG, an online tool designed for college students to assess their alcohol use. For more information or to sign up, call Betsy Foy, Coordinator of Prevention Programs at Student Health Services, 935-7386.

Residential Peer Health Educators

Residential Peer Health Educators (RPHEs) serve these residential colleges: William Greenleaf Eliot, Liggett/Koenig, Brookings, Park/Mudd, and Wayman Crow.
An RPHE is a sophomore, junior, or senior who lives in a residence hall as a member of the student staff and, after receiving training from Residential Life and Health Promotion Services staff, serves the needs of other students by listening to health-related concerns, providing confidential resource guidance, and coordinating monthly health promotion programming.

Student Groups

Health Promotion Services staff members work with student groups to help them reach their peers with important health information. This information raises awareness, boosts knowledge and skills, effects behavior change, and contributes to a healthy learning community.

Led by SHAC, the WU Peer Health Network serves as a roundtable discussion forum for other health-related student groups to share insights about health issues on campus.

If you or your group would like to be involved in health promotion on campus, contact Health Promotion Services at 935-7139.

Check out this guide for WU students living with serious/chronic illness produced by students in Project Good Days.
